Big Gulp!

People are always asking me "How do you do it?" "What's your secret?"

Well, the secret is to fish with shrimp and when something small goes for the shrimp, Mr. Big Gulp goes for them!

Nuff Said 3

Not a bad morning of fishing! Gregg caught all these from shore right in front of our condo. The biggest one is a grouper. The other three are a sheeps head, gorby, and something yet to be identified...

Nim Li Punit

We also visited Nim Li Punit -- one of the smaller Maya sites well known for the large amount of stele found there. In the Maya Kekchi language, Nim Li Punit means "the big hat".

Lubaantun

We enjoyed visiting the Lubaantun ruins -- the largest in southern Belize. All structures are made of limestone blocks with no visible mortar binding them together.

When portions of Lubaantun were excavated, large numbers of miniature ceramic objects were found. Santiago Coc, the caretaker of Lubaantun, makes and sells ceramic whistles that are duplicates of the ceramic whistles of Lubaantun. Bottom-right is the one we purchased from him.

Friends From Home

Look who's here! Our good friends (and neighbors for over 24 years) came for a visit! It was SO good seeing them and showing them around Belize!

Helping Out

We enjoyed working together and the fellowship with friends during the church work day.

Julie, Anna, and the preschool teachers (pictured below) worked on these banners for a parade the preschoolers of Seine Bight are participating in.

Mayan Friend

Over the past several months, I developed a friendship with Olivia ("my little Mayan lady.") She comes our way once or twice a week selling her Mayan crafts from Punta Gorda (3 hour bus ride away.) She usually comes in for a cup of water, use of our restroom, and a little chat. I've enjoyed getting to know her!

Nuff Said 2

Gregg caught this nice Mutton Snapper off a night line on the dock. We'll be eating well for the next couple of days!

Julie has been blessed to be able to teach Sunday School to the beautiful children of Seine Bight!

These are the four lessons and crafts we did.

Fishing with Friends

We spent a wonderful afternoon (including a yummy dinner) with our friends, the Avakian family. Nathanael is becoming quite the fisherman!

Creature Feature

There are so many interesting creatures here in Belize.  Now you know where the ideas come from for certain movies!

Check out the ridges and color of this little box turtle.

Special Friends

It was great getting to know this beautiful family. We will miss them!

Ms. Julie likes to play, give pony rides, and do lots of crafts! Mr. Gregg and Kenny have had an ongoing fishing contest...of course, Mr. Gregg is winning!

Waterfalls

Fun day hanging out with our friends, Jim and Anna (a sweet couple), exploring local waterfalls! Refreshing!
